Zinaida Serebryakova (1884-1967) Tata with vegetables (1923)Russian artist who studied under Osip Braz. She continuously strove to capture the beauty of the landscapes and people she painted. She had 4 children when herhusband, an engineer and a writer, died of Typhus. This occurred near the time of the October Revolution which also greatly affected her life. The following year a fire destroyed her home and many of her paintings that were stored in the house. Her children were born in 1906, 1907, 1912 and 1915. She moved to the country to raise her children and sent her paintings to galleries in St Petersburg where they met with great success.

Jag gissar att det är någon av döttrarna som fått agera modell. I så fall är flickan, som jag tycker liknar sin mor (se bild 4 feb), omkring 17 år. Hon ser ut att vara glad och nöjd och hon möter betraktarens blick utan förbehåll. Trevlig helg!
