Ephraim Rubenstein

Ephraim Rubenstein (f. 1956) Les Rosis 1

For a youthful formative year, he was an extraordinary fellow at Cambridge University, England, painting the water meadows and fen country that inspired British landscape artists. Since the 1970s, his activities promoting interdisciplinary studies include co-organizing arts festivals, giving public lectures and publishing essays in American Artist, Linea and American Heritage magazines. Perhaps it is not surprising, then, that Rubenstein’s project addresses the book as representative of diverse aspects of culture, as well as a revered, if aged and compromised, culture in itself.
