Henri-Charles Guerard

Henri-Charles Guerard (1846-1897) Still life (1875)
A fine French nineteenth century painter, woodcut artist and etcher, Henri Guerard first exhibited his art at the Paris Salon in 1870. A master of technique, Guerard was well known for his etchings both in black and white and in colors. He was also instrumental in introducing Japanese art to the Western world and illustrated Louis Gonse's, L'Art Japonais. Ref. Art of the Print
