Not as functional as his monument, but when the constructivists create art objects, they still use the materials and visual vocabulary of construction. They don’t want to use the word ‘artist’; they call themselves constructors because ‘artist’ is perceived as an elite title. They want to create something that can be enjoyed by everyone, not just the upper class. They don’t make art, they build things.
